I’m experiencing a bit of a premature music ejaculation—I just can’t hold it til tomorrow. I’m in stars-exploding-in-the-sky in love with The Bird and The Bee, which was passed to me this afternoon by my friend, Peter D.
I’m a big fan of Inare George and Giggy Tah (from whence “The Bird,” Greg Kurstin came), so mathmatically it makes sense. It’s good indie pop—just right for summer months. Mmmm, tasty.
In other music-related news, I’ve been seeing a slew of good shows in the last few weeks which I haven’t bragged about here (notably, Annuals/The Walkmen/Kaiser Chiefs, Mew, Neko Case, and The Decemberists), but am pretty amped for the Arcade Fire show this Friday at the DAR Constitution Hall in D.C. As if we had any doubts to the contrary, D is the coolest man in all the land for snagging those tickets. But the seating is such that I should get some decent photos.
Stay tuned…and turn it up.
