And I thought I had an eventful weekend of air travel.
I got back to Denver and found out that our friend Kevin—developer by day, pilot by night (er, on the weekends), had to execute a belly landing in a Cessna 172 on Thanksgiving because his landing gear broke. And, somehow, a local news crew caught it on camera.
Not only did Kevin and his instructor have to deal with the fact that their landing gear was shot—they had to drive the plane around for an hour so as to run it out of gas to execute a safe landing!
Read the story and watch the ever-cool Kevin describe the experience.** You can be damn sure that Kevin will be the recipient of many cold cervezas during our next happy hour.
**Try to ignore all the typos in that story. Good hell, don’t you journalists write for a living?
