In an Undisclosed Location

…In Ohio. Actually, in Elyria, Ohio, which I’ve never heard of and won’t even try to pronounce.

I really have no news for you; I’m half brain dead and mind f!cked by all the strip clubs and porn shops I’ve seen along 615 miles of interstate. And, as the cherry on top of the po-dunk sundae, there’s a giant strip club right next door to my hotel. A stone’s throw away. The lights may even keep me awake tonight. Or maybe me not sleeping has more to do with three time changes in one week.

If you’re half as bored as I am, you can watch this assembly of clips from the first part of my drive, from Denver, CO to Cedar Falls, IA. Don’t get your hopes up. It’s not exciting.

P.S. What a supercool image that video has. Ugh. Thanks, Vimeo.

  1. I’ve never been inside that bridge thing at Kearney either. I’ve driven under it about a dozen times, and I always think “I should go in there”. Never do.

And by the way, I think of the mandatory fastfood as a bonus to a roadtrip, because it’s not often I eat fastfood in my day-to-day. I think it’s pretty tasty.

Thanks for making and posting this. It’s nice to follow along. I’ll be spending a good amount of time on I-80 in a couple of weeks and I’ll be sure to give a thumbs up to the bridge for ya.

  2. I always thought that with all the cool places along the way (Petrified Wood Museum, World’s Biggest Frying Pan, etc.), but once you get going, it’s hard to stop.

I decided to stop eating fast food a few years ago, so aside from me being very aware that I’m eating unhealthfully, my body doesn’t know what to do with said food. So usually I just end up feeling lousy for a good few hours after eating. Not fun. Maybe I should try to incorporate FF into my diet before my next road trip to avoid a shock to the system. 🙂
