“Let’s go with the dead baby motif.”

I know, lots of music-themed posts lately. I apologize. But It’s what’s moving me, so that’s what I’m posting.

I’ve been listening to Colin Meloy‘s new album (live, sans The Decemberists or Tarkio) and really digging it. Coincidentally, I was listening to the last track on the album when I came across this Guardian article, wherein Laura Burton is to write a song with Meloy.

I’ve always found Meloy’s songwriting moving and entertaining; he’s a storyteller, a fiction writer from the University of Montana, and it shows in every song he’s written.

Anyway, whether you love Meloy (as I clearly do), or not, it’s a good read. Take a look.
